The Committee discussed the following:

 

1.    The establishment of relationships with other committees to solve: technology

             problems, technology acquisition budgets, the lack (and need) of policies and

             procedures to standardize relationships among committees, strategic planning,  

             technology master planning, and project funding problem.

2.    The role of the Technology committee.

3.    What should be the first step in establishing functional committee relationships?

 

  Suggestions:

 

1.    Analyze budgets fro the last three cycles

2.    Survey courses and skills development needs to determine educational technology requirements.

3.    Review/develop strategic/master plan (this committee is responsible for Technology acquisition Master Planning. What technologies should be updated first? What equipment should be replaced?

4.    Faculty should be involved in technology acquisition/implementation projects for Math, science, multimedia instruction.

 

 

  Assignments:

 

1.    Robert - Review/develop strategic plan for Computer Replacement Policy

2.    Young – Research government available grants and prepare project to be presented to the President.

3.    Adrian – Determine DSPS technology needs and acquisition.

4.    Jesus – minutes

5.    Phoebe - discuss with EPC and Budget Committee relationship with Educational Planning Committee & Budget committee

6.    David G. – Review Technology Master planning and determine priorities.

 

 

  Committee commitments (suggested):

 

1.    Committee functions awareness effort.

2.    Develop policies, procedures, define technology planning priorities.

3.    Develop technology upgrading plans.

4.    Develop cross-index (Rolodex concept) of resources for problem solving, contact technology solutions providers and requestors.

5.    Committee to assume assertive, proactive attitude.

6.    Assist faculty members with technology problem solving.

7.    Define committee functions and develop committee flowchart.
